This innovative idea sparked an American movement that would deliver more than 100 million CARE Packages containing food and medicine to war survivors and families around the world, along with the tools and supplies needed to rebuild their lives.

The result has been some deeply moving connections between people who, though separated by decades and distance, share so much.
